Course selection
guidance/Course Fair
QHS Guidance Counselors will provide information and advice on a one-to-one basis with the students and assist them in course selection. Bond will hold a course fair each year in May to assist students with course selection.

ONE-ON-ONE
Communication
and Study Plan
When students come to QHS, the guidance counsellors introduce the students to the education system, university entry requirements, and the curriculum of QHS International College. Through individual conversations with a student the counsellor learns about the personality, academic strengths, university plans and career intentions and helps them choose courses and make a learning plan. The counsellor also has an opportunity to assess how the student is adapting to a new environment, adjusting psychologically and any needs for counselling.

Academic Alert
At QHS we have early identification of student problems in learning and work with the students and parents to minimize failure. Teachers meet regularly to determine the students in need of extra help and analyze the reasons and formulate plans of assistance.
Curriculum leaders regularly hold meetings to discuss how to help students who have difficulties in learning and students who are not progressing well. At the meeting, teachers will make a list of students who need help, analyze the reasons, and make remedy plans. Guidance counselors will assist teachers to communicate with each student and their parents individually.

Local parents or guardians can make an appointment with the teacher to meet face-to-face. If the parents are not in Canada, they can register for the QHS Online teacher-parent meeting.
